Having an orgasm is important for health.
Recently I had the privilege of speaking to a woman who had become so busy she began to neglect her health and her relationships. Her employment was consuming most of her energy and time. Sleep being of lesser importance to her and her social activities were almost nonexistent. Her constitutional balance was so disrupted that she began to gain weight. She lost her self confidence, was feeling unattractive, anxious, moody and depressed. She was actually requesting medication for her altered mental state. It was so long since she had had sex that she rarely thought about it and didn’t want to think about it. Consumption of sodas and fast foods added to her unhealthy state.
As we explored all of the things which were problematic for her and making her so poorly balanced, she realized that in the past sex was not only pleasurable but, also a stress reliever. As she reminisced about a time when intimacy was passionate and intense, she realized how cleansing to the spirit having an orgasm was. She remembered appreciating the closeness and conversation and how it was different following having an orgasm then when she was unfulfilled. She was not starting with sex but was starting with getting rest, eliminating the sugar from the diet, beginning an exercise program and balancing the demands of her work. With a 3 lb. decrease in weight and better living, her elevated blood pressure decreased without medication! …And she dyed and cut her hair into a sexy, confident hair style. She even bought some new liberating clothes.
What came next was a responsible encounter with someone of mutual admiration. I happened to see her in the following days and not only was her smile uncontrollable but, her disposition carried a glow. She revealed that she doubted she would be able to orgasm again. To her surprise it was intense and flowing. As I expected, with the return of balance in her life, she was much more pleasant, optimistic, hopeful and no longer requesting medication.
